Influenza-like illness

It remains the off-season. Outpatient influenza-like illness fell to 1.2%, which is among the lowest it has been since the pandemic depressed influenza transmission.


COVID-19

Covid-19 continues to slowly creep up, but still no signs of a splashy summer wave.

In Florida, the percent of visits to the emergency department that are for Covid-19 ticked up to 1.2%, up from a recent low of 0.4%. For context, last summer's wave peaked at 4.3%. Activity in Texas is also beginning to rise. ED visits are at a low 0.6%, a slight increase over the previous week's 0.5%. The rest of the states in the southern region are still in pretty good shape. These increases are reflected in regional wastewater concentration estimates, which has the South on the rise.
