Respiratory Diseases

Influenza-like illness

Flu is very quiet, with minimal activity in every state. Outpatient visits for influenza-like illness last week were down to 1.35% of all visits.

For the youngest children, those aged 0-4 years, outpatient visits for ILI have decreased to 4.5%. For those 5-24 years of age, 1.7% of outpatient visits were for ILI this past week, and for all other age groups, the rate was 1.1% or lower.

Hospitalizations remain stable at a very low 0.4 hospitalizations per 100,000 people.

COVID-19

Covid-19 activity remains very low nationally, but I am now about 75% sure we are in the earliest days of the summer wave. The bottom line is that things are quiet, but that will likely change in July.
