The last trip I took before the pandemic was to an academic conference in South Carolina called Epidemics. Go figure.
Thirty-odd months later, I’m finally back to flying regularly. Traveling looks quite a bit different than it used to, and this is one area of my life where I’m electing to make some pandemic-borne changes permanent. I used to regularly develop colds a few days into my trip or just after returning home, and in retrospect, that was a huge inconvenience that I never regarded as modifiable.
These days, with masks and ventilation considerations commonplace, I’m doing what I can to stay healthy. Here are some of the ways that I reduce my risk of getting sick while traveling while also enjoying my trip.
